今回は数理パズルではなく、れっきとした英単語にまつわるパズル（クイズ）です。

問題
　　　　　　　　　　　　「 i を最も数多く含む英単語は何か。」

ヒントは i が五個以上含まれる名詞で、辞書にもちゃんと載っています。
最も長い単語はsmiles、なぜならsとsの間が１マイルだから、といったようなトンチではありません。
尚、この問題は、或るサイトから拝借したもので、次回に解答を掲載します。

今回の随想は、6月号数理パズルの解答です。解答の前に6月号の問題を再掲します。

「下記の式の□に、＋、－、をそれぞれ一個と、×、÷、をそれぞれ3個入れて、計算結果が0になる
ようにして下さい。但し、数の並びを変える事、カッコを使う事は出来ません。

さて、ではこの解答です。それは次の式です。

　　　　　　　　　　
　　　　　　　　1÷2×3÷4×5＋6－7÷8×9

いかがでしたでしょうか。

この問題は計算結果が0になる式にするという事でしたが、もともとは、計算結果が0ではなく
100にする、しかも入れるものは＋、－、×、÷、ではなく、＋、－及び空白で（空白を入れるという
ことは、数を続けて読み複数扱いにする事で、例えば1空白2は12になるという事です。）江戸時
代に、はやったパズルで「小町算」と呼ばれていて、英語では「century puzzle」と呼ばれるようです。
私がこれを改造して「＋、－、×、÷及び空白を入れて、計算結果を0にする式を見つける」という
問題にし、その中の一つの式（＋、－を一個ずつと、×、÷を3個ずつで、計算結果を0にする式）を、
見つけることを今回の問題としました。

この問題の英文は下記の通りです。ネーティブ達にもどうぞやらせてみて下さい。

“Make zero the formula billow putting one +and-,and three ×and ÷,in each□.

But,　ｃhanging ｔhe order of number and using parentheses　are not allowed.”

Make zero the following formula, filling each □ with either  +,-,× or÷.

さて、今回の問題です。解答は来春3月の、最終号に掲載する予定です。
