11月号―数理パズル解答と問題英文そして新題

                           本題(ダジャレ文)
本題の見方---ダジャレ文の中の青色文字は英語の意味、赤色文字は語呂合わせの部分で、
かなりなまったり方言ぽくなる場合があります。また、ダジャレ文は語呂合わせの為の文言で、
意味の正当性、日本文としての正確性は有りません事ご周知下さい。
 英単語に添えられた丸数字は難易度レベルで、詳しくは2012.8/27号をご参照ください。
(⑦~⑫は書物には頻出。⑳以上も新聞等には時折出現する。)

                           随想                                     
今回の随想は、6月号数理パズルの解答です。解答の前に6月号の問題を再掲します。

「下記の式のに、+、-、をそれぞれ一個と、×、÷、をそれぞれ3個入れて、計算結果が0になる
ようにして下さい。但し、数の並びを変える事、カッコを使う事は出来ません。
              123456789                     」


さて、ではこの解答です。それは次の式です。
          
        1÷2×3÷4×5+6-7÷8×9

いかがでしたでしょうか。

この問題は計算結果が0になる式にするという事でしたが、もともとは、計算結果が0ではなく
100にする、しかも入れるものは+、-、×、÷、ではなく、+、-及び空白で(空白を入れるという
ことは、数を続けて読み複数扱いにする事で、例えば1空白2は12になるという事です。)江戸時
代に、はやったパズルで「小町算」と呼ばれていて、英語では「century puzzle」と呼ばれるようです。
私がこれを改造して「+、-、×、÷及び空白を入れて、計算結果を0にする式を見つける」という
問題にし、その中の一つの式(+、-を一個ずつと、×、÷を3個ずつで、計算結果を0にする式)を、
見つけることを今回の問題としました。
この問題の英文は下記の通りです。ネーティブ達にもどうぞやらせてみて下さい。

      英文Ⅰ(小生の作った英文---素人丸出しですね!)
Make zero the formula billow putting one +and-,and three ×and ÷,in each.
But, changing he order of number and using parentheses are not allowed.

      英文Ⅱ(私の作った英文を英語専門家が修正した文)
Make zero the following formula, filling each  with either  +,-,× or÷.
You can use + and - only once,
× and ÷ three times.
You are not allowed to change the order of the numbers or use parentheses.

さて、今回の問題です。解答は来春3月の、最終号に掲載する予定です。

「下記の式で、+、-、×、÷、の全ての演算記号をそれぞれ二回ずつ使って入れ、計算

                          随想
 過日、英語が仕事にどう関わっているかというTV番組を見ました。英語を社内の
公用語にしたソフトバンクをはじめ、海外取引を始めた中小企業でも、英語を導入したことで、
経営効率が高まったことが、喧伝されていました。その番組の分析によれば、その好影響は
通訳が不要になった、交渉力が高まった、とかいう事ではなく、実は、英語に不得手な分、
書類作成や、連絡状況が、より簡潔になり速くなったというのが真相のようで、成程と
納得させられました。日本語でやれば、よけいな挨拶や、言い訳などが、物事を冗長に
させてしまうのに対し、英語なら、箇条書きや、中学生のような簡潔な文で済まさざるを
得ない分、より重要な事項があぶり出され、仕事効率、更には経営効率までもが、
高まるようだと結論付けられていました。
 海外で、英語を学んでいる皆さん、仕事に励んでおられる皆さん、余り上達し過ぎないよう
気を付けましょう。(笑)
