今回は特に苦し紛れのダジャレ多し。こう許し。
1）いくら近い病院でも循環器系の疾患では歩いては行けないね。さー、病院にむかうでよバス来らー。⑪cardiovascular(a)－－－5月号の「カーで悪（cardiac)」の派生語ですね。
例文：One study from the University of North Carolina found that women who receive from their partner have lower blood pressure and therefore a lower risk of cardiovascular disease.
2)歳末グランドセールで、胸腺の手術は今日せん？！⑯thymus gland(n)
例文：The study authors noted that hugs appeared to stimulate ＂the thymus gland, which regulates and balances the body's production of white blood cells, which keeps you healthy and disease free."
参考：thyroid gland (甲状腺）---広(シロ）いどグランド、こうでないと選手は向上せん。
prostate gland (前立腺）---アマとは違う！練習もうプロしてっとグランドの最前列
線で。（前列線から前立腺の連想は苦しいか。）
3)作戦通り簡潔に済ましてしまえ。⑯succinctly(adv)---tlyの前のcはほとんどサイレント。

4)コロナおさまらねば悩みの種はあふれ来(る)しょう。⑫affliction(n)
例文："How consoling in the depth of affliction !" Lincoln, the 16th U.S. President who was influenced the adage in a fable Edward FitzGerald wrote, said of the adage on Sept.30,1859.
5)身体接触だめだと言って、土下座ねーす。（ハッギングや握手の代わりに土下座は無いでしょう、の意味）⑬togetherness(n)
例文：Due to her past health problems, she would prefer to avoid any sort of physical togetherness, to be safe.
---これを「接触」と理解するのって、ネーティヴなら出来るというのでしょうかね。physical contactやtouch ではダメなんですかね。たくもー。(上記例文の解説にphysical togetherness＝身体接触 とありました。また、この英文の中の別な文には以下が有りました。Since the start of the pandemic, she has cut off all physical contact with me－ not just sex but also kissing and even hugging.英語人はどうしてこう同じ語句をつかうのを嫌がるのか解せません。）
6)店に入れないようにしたら若者たちは道にあぶれ狂うど！⑩preclude(vt)
例文：Stragetic competition does not preclude working with China.
7)英米に行って英語を勉強している輩は、英語にどっぷり感がすごくて、恰好さえも外人にうり二つになってくるから不思議です。⑮ doppelganger(n)
例文：If not consider the height, mouth, nose, eyes, hair and smile, I'm basically Henri's doppelganger.(9gag1/12)
8)礼してブーとはなんと反抗的な奴だ。㉓restive(a)
例文：Poor planning among a constellation of government agencies and a restive crowd encouraged by President Trump set the stage for the unthinkable.(N.Y.Times1/15)
9)そんな粗い戦略じゃー、しくじるぞ。⑬awry(a)
例文：Life in prison for two American teenagers convicted in the 2019 slaving of a police officer at a drug sting gone awry. （ABC NEWS May 6th)
10)waiveのダジャレ思いつきませんでしたので、英語の音韻文でやりました。下記の語呂合わせ文のwaive・waveと、right・rightで、ともに同音異義でいわゆるpun仕立てですが、前者はスペルが違い完全なpunにはなっていません。
語呂合わせ文：My cousin waived his right of inheritance, and waved his right hand saying good by.⑪ waive(vt)
－－－相続権争いから身を引いて、別れ行く悲しくもはかない情景から、「身を引いた、権利を放棄した」を想起していただくようにしたダジャレ文です。
尚、punなるものは、二つの意味のある単語の両方の意味を使って面白い文にしたもののようで、上記のwaive・waveや、日本のダジャレのような単なる語呂合わせとは異なるようです。
以下はpunに関する考察です。
Pun の例文：
When a goose goes out from a restaurant, he would say "Put that on my bill."(billが請求の伝票とくちばしの二つの意味をかけている）
単なる語呂合わせの例文：（日本語のダジャレに相当）
My teacher lived in the sea, as he taught us.(taught usがtortoiseと同音－－－これは実は、50年前に私が作ったダジャレ英文で、英会話のネイティブ講師に話したらやたら受けました。懐かしい思い出です。）
※punで検索すると様々な実例を見ることが出来ます。
実は、英語ではよく会話の中で偶然にpunになってしまうことがよくあるらしく、"pun intended"とか、"no pun intended"とかいちいち断る場面が結構あるらしいです。pun の意味知らないでいてno pun intendedなんて言われると、「●●喫茶に行くつもり？」に勘違いしちゃうかも。冗談は別にして、"no pun intended"と断る場面が結構あるのは、英単語には慣用句（イディオム）も含めてメッチャ多義語が多いせいですね。そういえば意味はちがいますが、日本にいる外人タレントたちはよくダジャレを言いますね。外国語を使っていると音韻が面白くもおかしくなってくるという事で、言いたくなる気持ちよくわかります。そもそもこのブログが出来てしまったのもその一環です。さてwaiveの例文です。
例文：The Biden Administration supports waiving patent protections for COVID-19 vaccines in order to allow companies around the world to produce doses.(ABC News 5/6)－－－英文が皆このようにわかり易くあればよいのですが－－－。
