※英語には「後悔」はあるものの「反省する」という意味の単語はないようです。（以前introspectかと言及しましたがこれは「内省」で少し違う気がします。）かたや、戦う、口論する、いがみ合うなどの単語は掃いて捨てる程あり、欧米の歴史を感じさせますね。（若いときは、何も知らず無邪気にも、こういう国々にあこがれてたんですな。可可）とにかく自虐的な言葉を嫌うのが欧米の文化？それとも「反省」は仏教思想？。
因みに㉓penitenceはキリスト教用語でしょうね。（懺悔せよ。天にペーすることなかれ、ペンにてんすることなかれ。意味不明？－－－ペンにてんす→天にペーす→天に唾す→悔い改める、と連想できるでしょうか。）
なお、ロイター通信8/17に、ピーターフォンダの死亡記事（obituary）があり、Peter Fonda who played a cool and introspective mortorcyclist in the 1969 film "Easy Rider"---.と有り、この場合introspectiveはどう翻訳されるでしょうか、お分かりになられる方おられましたらご教唆ください。。
