随想
今回は前回本題のサンプル英文を掲載しましたので、レビューとしてご覧下さい。どうしたら高年者の心にグサっと刻むことができるのか、そればかりを考えています。これだというものありましたら、どうかお教え下さい。
本題－－－下記水色背景文字は本題の見方の説明です。
ダジャレ文の中の青色文字は英語の意味、赤色文字は語呂合わせの部分で、かなりなまったり方言ぽくなる場合があります。英語の意味と語呂が重なっている場合紫色文字になります。初公開時以降に加筆修正した部分は緑色背景文字で表示しています。英単語に添えられた丸数字は難易度レベルを表しています。詳しくは８/２７号をご参照ください。（⑦～⑫は書物には頻出。⑳以上も新聞等には時折出現する。）
アラカルト12語－－－今回おどろおどろしい言葉多く、嫌いな方はパスされたし。
１）「いまどき見合い？」「彼らの結婚そうなんす、実は親たちの意見が一致したからなんす。」㉒ consonance(n)---前回２６）dissonanceの反意語。
参考：今年の民主党の忘年会、離党したあいつら一致して来んそうなんす（来ないのだそうです）。---やはり「婚」シリーズの方がよいか。con~ときたら「婚」を思い浮かべどんな結婚だったかを思い出す、という事で‐‐‐4/16号（リンクしてます）参照されたし。
２）そのびくの中の魚一匹分けてくり（れ）ーる？⑭creel(n)---「くれる？」のダジャレ文は数種類あり。いずれシリーズとしてまとめる予定です。
３）すぐヘッドロック（ロング）する無鉄砲な奴。⑩headlong(adv,a)
４）「エ（ヘ）ソ沸が（か）す」は、食道がよじれてお茶が沸いてしまう程おかしい事のたとえ。⑪esophagus(n)---本当は、よじれるのは食道ではなく胃腸の事で、それでヘソが熱くなり茶が沸く、というのが医学的定説？！
５）血で真っ赤ブラ（「ブラジャー」のこと）、恐ろしや。⑰macabre(a)
６）気もち悪い、遺体安置室。⑪mortuary(n,連体a)
７）ふぇんどう（返答）はせず、受け流しておけばよい。⑫fend(vt)---他動詞でもoffが付随するようです。またforが来ると意味が違うようです。
別案：合流しないと党員増えんどといわれても、政策変更はしない。申し出は受け流し（fend off）、我々は自分たちだけで何とかやって行く（「金銭的に」が本来の意味）（fend for ourselves）。［渡辺党首談］
８）リンボーダンスは今や忘れられた存在。⑯limbo(n)---二番目の意味がリンボーダンスそのもの。
９）教会ではよく見れる昔の壁画。⑩mural(a,n)
別案：どこでも誰でも見れる絵は壁画です。
１０）ひどい凍傷、手足切るだけで済めん（め）ば良いが。⑯dismember(vt)
１１）ブログ作る為、家に引きこもったまま過ごし苦労（ろい）し（す）たー。⑲cloister(vt)
１２）真実は分厚いものに覆い隠され知らうど（ろうと）しても誰も知れなかった。⑪shroud(n,vt)‐‐‐前回の類似語shr+母音のグループに含めて下さい。
別案：その原因、素人（シュラウド）に何が分かると、包み隠して決して明かさぬ、電力会社。
レビュー（原典はブリタニカ社のメリアムウェブスター辞書他）－－－前回（11/19）の本題の例文で、これからダジャレ文を想起する練習をし、文書中で遭遇して日本語の意味が思い出せるようにして頂ければと思います。尚番号は前回の本題番号に対応していますので、アーカイブで確認できます。

５）His performance in the film was a caricature of a hard-boiled detective.
６）The newspaper was spoofed by a supposedly plausible claim of a UFO encounter.
７）He was arrested for impersonating a police officer.---impersonationの動名詞系。
８）His reputation was in shreds after the arrest.
９）Rip Van Winkle went off into the mountains to escape his wife, a shrew who made his life miserable.
１０）She's shrewd about her investments.
１１）<the mud-splattered bystanders were shrilling with outrage at the inconsiderate motorist>
１２）plants shriveling in the heat

１６）The plot of land is demarcated by a low brick wall.---demacationの動詞形。
参考：境界設定は軍事力の差で負けっと（「負けるぞ」の意味）。受け身形で覚えるならで負けてっど---どちらも「で」と「負けて」が分離しており思い出しにくく、デマけーしょんから想起するようにした方がよいか。
１７）We could hear wasps droning in the garden.---前回ダジャレ文中の「役立たず」は比喩的意味でこちらの「低い声・音を出す」が一義のようです。
１８）They engaged in a duel of wits.

改良作：住み込みの弟子いっぺ（ぱ）いとなってきて、精力・財産擦り減らし。

本日の大賞---メリアムウェブスター辞書に'today's word'として掲載されていたもの。必ずしも悪い意味でなく「家に閉じこもって受験勉強をする」などで使われるようです。また、実は今の私の状況でもあり、恥ずかしながら自戒をこめて選ばせて頂きました。
